The 90’s Rule!
Why the ’90s Were One of the Greatest Decades in Rock Music
Grunge. Alternative. Post-grunge. The ’90s changed rock music forever.
Think about the first time you heard Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit,” Pearl Jam’s “Alive,” or Soundgarden’s “Black Hole Sun.” Something was happening to rock music, and there was no turning back.
The ’90s brought us an incredible collection of bands that helped redefine what rock could sound like. Alice in Chains delivered dark, heavy riffs. Stone Temple Pilots gave us unforgettable hooks. The Smashing Pumpkins pushed alternative rock into new territory. And bands like Foo Fighters carried that energy into the next generation.
What made the decade special wasn’t just the music. It was the attitude. Rock became raw, emotional, loud, and unapologetically different.
More than 30 years later, those songs still sound incredible turned up loud.
Now we want to know: What’s the greatest rock album of the 1990s?
Was it Nevermind, Ten, Superunknown, Dirt, or something else entirely?
Tell us your pick!
